Your Google Business Profile is one of the first places AI looks. Your name, address and phone need to match your website exactly, your services need to be listed in full, and your photos need to be recent. A half filled profile tells the AI you might be a half finished business.
Think of it like labelling the shelves in a shop. A customer walking in can figure things out by looking around, but the AI needs clear labels, called schema markup, telling it exactly what you do and where. Most websites never bother, which is exactly why this is such a quick win.
If someone would type “how much does a hot water system replacement cost in Southport” into Google, that should almost be the heading on your page, with a plain, direct answer straight after it. AI search likes plain answers, not marketing spin.
A page of five year old reviews tells the AI, and everyone else, that not much is happening. Recent reviews, and a business that replies to them, read as active and trustworthy.
